Producer, Writer & Performer

Douglas Taurel

Douglas Taurel (Producer, Writer & Performer) is an accomplished actor and producer. As an actor, he has starred in numerous television shows including Nurse Jackie, Damages, NYC 22, The Americans and Person of Interest. As a producer, he has produced two Off Off Broadway shows that were well reviewed by the New York Times and received 5 stars at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

 

His last film production project was a short film called “Siesta”, performed in English and Spanish, it was accepted and screened at numerous film festivals including Atlanta Short Fest and Big Apple Film Festival. He is active in the independent film scene and has worked with many upcoming film directors. Recently was booked in Tom McCarthy’s new indie feature “The Cobbler” and as lead roles in two, soon to be released, independent films “Waystation to the Stars” and “La Croix Rising”.

 

He began his acting training in New York with the legendary Wynn Handman and since has had the opportunity to study with many amazing artists including Alec Baldwin, Kathleen Turner, Edward Albee and Tim Phillips.

Director

Padraic Lillis

Padraic Lillis (Director) has worked on Broadway, National Tours, Off-Broadway, Tony Award winning Regional Theaters, as well as Off-Off Broadway. Last year he was awarded the NY IT Award for Outstanding Diretion for his production of Lindsay Joy’s Rise and Fall of a Teenage Cyberqueen, Overall Excellence Award from NY International Fringe Festival for production of Lee Kaplan’s Bully, and was named an Indie Theater Person of the Year. This year he was inducted into the Indie Theater Hall of Fame.

 

Most recently he was a Geva Theatre Directirn fellow in residence at SUNY Brockport. Other solo shows he has directed are Adina Taubman’s award winning A Line In The Sand (a documentary show about Columbine), Kelly Kinsella’s When Thoughts Attack, he also co-wrote with Kelly Kinsella How To Do A One Person Show, and he wrote and performs his own solo show How To Survive Crack Addiction.

 

He is also a published playwright with Dramatist Play Services and Indie Theater Now. Padraic was awarded the Dayton Hudson Distinguished Artist Fellowship. Assistant

Ashley Klanac

Ashley Klanac is an Atlanta native and a University of Oklahoma School of Drama grad. Recent NY credits include: Little Fish (Anne), Lend Me A Tenor (Maria),The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Fabiana).

You’ve probably heard her voice on one of the countless audiobooks she’s worked on, such as Morgan’s Hunter, The Rogue, and The Maze to name a few. She is currently in production for a documentary short film called Invisible, which profiles individuals who deal with fibromyalgia.

Light Designer

Katy Atwell (Lighting Design) – New York Design Credits include:  Importance of Being Earnest and A Christmas Carol (Titan Theater Co); Trail of Crumbs at Access Theatre and The National Theater of Luxembourg (Circle Theatre of New York); A Happy End at Abingdon Theatre; The Erlkings at The Beckett at Theater Row. She is currently the Assistant Lighting Director for the New York City Ballet. MFA: Boston University.

Set & Costume Design

Lea Umberger (Set & Costume Design) works as a Production Designer, Costume Designer and Art Director for the theatre, film, televison and commercials.  Recent projects have taken her across the country designing sets for the upcoming production of Underneath the Lintel at Geva Theatre in Rochester.  Lea has also been named the new Resident Designer (Set and Costume) for Alchemy Theatre Company in NYC.  While building her freelance design career, Lea has continued her work with HSN as the Senoir Stylist for Home Fashions – a job that has her working with clients including Colin Cowie, John Robshaw , Nate Berkus, Rosanna Inc., Cottage Collection, Highgate Manor and Carleton Varney.

Lea received her MFA from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts- Graduate Design for Stage and Film, where she received the Oliver Smith Design Scholarship (2002) awarded for excellence in set and costume design.  She taught costume design and history for three years at SUNY New Paltz (2003-2005).  www.leaumbergerdesigns.com

Sound Designer

Andy Evan Cohen (Sound Design) His works have been played in such venues as Lincoln Center, Fordham University, The Public Theater, off-Broadway at Theatre Row, 59E59, La Mama, HERE, the Ohio Theatre, Theater for the New City, Expanded Arts, and the New York International Fringe Festival, where he was a 2000 “Excellence” Award Winner.

Recent projects have included the original musicals Charlie Chang and the Mysterious Salami (which won the “Golden Pineapple” award for “worst musical” as part of the 2008 Bad Musicals Festival), The Green Manifesto, and Ripcords (with book and lyrics by Anne Berlin); Kabbalah and Mountain Jews with the Jewish Theater of New York; music direction and sound installation for a multi-media performance project in Werdenberg, Switzerland; sound design for several productions at Luna Stage (Montclair, NJ) and at the Terry Schreiber Acting Studio (including Balm in Gilead, a 2011 NYIT Award Nominee for Sound Design and Winner for Outstanding Production of a Play); scores for the Drama League’s Directors Fest and the Chekhov Now! Stage Manager

Gabriela Gowdie (Stage Manager) is a graduate from Manhattanville College with a B.A. in Theatre and Education.  As a stage manager, her next project is Your Move 2016 (Art House Productions); past credits include Metamorphosis (TEDxJersey City), Your Move 2015 (Art House Productions), and The Wild Party (St. Peter’s University). Currently, she can be found as an Assistant Stage Manager Swing at Then She Fell (Third Rail Projects) and as an Artistic Director at O-Kaos Productions.

As a performer, her next project is The Handless Maiden (Art House Productions); past credits include Lysistrata (The AlphaNYC), The House of Atreus (Art House Productions), Tartuffe (Manhattanville College), and The Heidi Chronicles (Manhattanville College). 

Stage Manager

Elisabeth Sophia Strauss (Stage Manger) is Long Island born-and-bred theater enthusiast and golfaholic. Bachelor of Fine Arts  from the University of Rhode Island. I have worked in New York City theater on multiple Off-Broadway Productions and Broadway events as a Stage Manager, Sound Programmer, and Production Manager. Production Coordinator for the Broadway Stage Management Symposium.
